The church is God’s chosen people. A community of believers bound together by love and faith. United we stand, divided we fall. As the world grows more uncertain, our prayer life should grow more fervent.
A prayer for the church asks God to support all true Christians as they pray. Whether your church is going through a hard time or you want to give it some extra support, these scriptures and prayers can be a great way to show your faith.
Prayers for The Church
Lord, we pray for Your church today. We pray for unity within the Body of Christ. We pray that we would put aside our differences and come together as one. That we would love one another as You have loved us.
Lord, we know that this is not always easy. But we also know that it is Your will for us. So we ask for Your help in making this a reality in our lives.
Amen.
Corinthians 11:16
But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.
Prayer for Worship in the Church
Almighty God, there is no one like You – You are all-powerful and ever-present, majestic and holy. We are humbled before You as we gather together today to worship You and give thanks for Your countless blessings. Your wisdom guides us, and Your love surrounds us. In the presence of this great and mighty Creator, we open our hearts to receive Your Word.
May the Holy Spirit fill us with His power so we may sing Your praises with joyfulness and thankfulness from the depths of our souls. We offer You praise for creating a world filled with diverse beauty – from mountains and oceans to forests and deserts, from rainbows in the sky to blossoming flowers on the ground. Every moment of every day is filled with wonders that testify to Your greatness and glory. We cannot help but feel blessed by all that You have made.
So we bow before You in adoration, thanking You for small and great gifts, both seen and unseen. And we pray that our gaze would always be fixed upon You; that in all things, good or bad, we would recognize Your wisdom at work; that as life unfolds before us, we would be grateful for every experience along the way because each one draws us closer to You. Thank you, Almighty God – may our worship bring praise back to You alone. Amen.
Corinthians 10:32
Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God
Prayer For Protection of the Church
As we seek to walk the path of life, O Lord, we constantly need your protection and guidance. You are our shepherd and protector, going before us and leading us wherever we go. Whether we find ourselves surrounded by trials and difficulties or basking in the glory of your blessings, your unfailing presence is with us every step. We praise you for your faithfulness and rejoice in your eternal care.
As we look ahead to what lies ahead, may we be enveloped by your angels of protection. Grant that we might never fear what evil lies ahead but instead trust in your goodness and mercy day after day. Through Christ our Lord, who guides us with strength and guides us with love, Amen.
Corinthians 12:27
Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.
Prayer for Unity in the Church
There is immense power in unity, Lord Jesus. When we band together as Your body, nothing can stand in our way. Whether it is working together to spread Your message or supporting one another through difficult times, our collective strength gives us the ability to accomplish so much more than we ever could on our own.
As such, we pray for unity within our church today, asking that we would recognize and set aside any differences that may exist among us. We ask that you would help us to see each other not as competitors or adversaries but as fellow believers who are striving towards the same goal: bringing You honor and glory through our actions.
Let us draw close to one another, Lord Jesus, and walk forward together in unity as Your beloved children.
Amen.
Prayer For Christian Boldness
In a world confronted by so much darkness, materialism, and loss of faith, it can be all too easy to become complacent and shy away from conveying the truth of Christ to others. But as Christians, we are called upon to be bold in our witness for God and do our part to spread His Good News throughout the earth.
Only through collective efforts can we hope to truly transform this world into the Kingdom of God that we seek.
With this in mind, Lord, we ask that you grant us the courage and strength we need to boldly proclaim Your Gospel and share the beauty of Your truth with those around us. May we be filled with your Holy Spirit, anointing us with all the gifts and passion we need in order to speak out on Your behalf. And may You, O Lord, be our guiding light as we seek to bring about Your Kingdom here on earth, spreading peace and joy wherever we go. Amen.
Corinthians 12:12
For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.
Prayer For Humility
Heavenly Father, we often forget that you created us in your image, with all of our strengths and weaknesses. We get caught up in our own egos, looking down on others or thinking too highly of ourselves.
Forgive us when we fall into these traps of arrogance and pride. Help us to look at others with the humility and respect that you have shown to us. Fill us with love for all of your children, no matter their circumstances or status in this world. May we strive to be a church where everyone feels welcomed and loved, just as you have welcomed and loved us.
Amen.
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
Prayer for Church Revival
Holy Father, how desperately we long to see You move in our midst! We live in a world that is far from You – a world filled with suffering and sin.
There is so much pain and injustice, so many broken hearts, and troubled minds. And yet we believe that You are still good, that You still love us and long to see us return to You. We cry out to you for revival in our land, for those who have strayed away from the church to come home; we long to see people turn their hearts towards You and seek Your blessings and guidance.
Lord, we pray that You would move mightily upon our hearts, touch the lost and the hurting, and bring revival in our midst so that we may all be one with You in spirit as well as in truth.
Amen.
