MLK Day Prayers
Healing Prayer For MLK Day
I pray that we will never forget the dream of Dr. King. I pray that his aspirations will live on in each of us as we strive to create a more just and equitable world. I pray that his values and principles will remain in our hearts as we aim to uphold the importance of racial equality and nonviolent change.
I pray that his example will inspire us to stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult. I pray that we will have the courage to speak out against injustice and the strength to love our enemies. Likewise, I pray that we become advocates of his works and suitable promoters of his ethics.
I pray that we will never forget that we are all created equal in Your eyes and heart. Regardless of color and culture, let us remember that we live under the same sky and breathe the same air.
I ask all of these things in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Prayer For Martin Luther King Day
Today, we come to You to pray for those who fought and are still fighting for our freedom. Bless our souls as we battle with what is unjust and evil. Grant us the will to carry on, even when the world seems to belittle our values and principles.
Bless those who have yet to realize they need to fight, as they are lost and confused. These people are losing all reasons to fight for what is correct and impartial, but with Your guidance, we know they will find the light and the will to take a stand.
Bless our hero, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., for his dedication to non-violent protests and passion for social justice. Let us follow his ways and pursue his conduct of not resorting to forceful means to reach our goals. He is an excellent example to every protester and advocate.
Bless his family as well for their ongoing commitment to his legacy. Bless those who he has inspired to make a difference. Finally, bless all those working tirelessly to realize his dream of equality and justice.
We celebrate today the life, work, and honor of Dr. King. May he guide and inspire all of us in the days to come.
Prayer For Racial Justice
We unite in Your name today to pray for racial justice. We intercede for our black and brown brothers and sisters, bearing the brunt of hatred, violence, and racism in our country. The difference in colors and culture should never be a reason for others to assess and discriminate.
Let those singled out know the love of Christ, that a loving community would surround them, and that they would have the strength to continue fighting for justice.
Let those who differentiate know Your love, that they would realize their mistakes and wrongdoings, and that they start to treat other people fairly and without prejudice.
We pray for the main perpetrators of violence and racism, that they would have a change of heart and mind, and that they would see the value and worth of every human being.
We pray for healing in our country, Oh Lord, and an end to the divisions that are tearing us apart. May You shower upon us Your love so that we will all realize how to love our fellowmen. In Jesus’ name, we pray.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.Galatians 3:28
Martin Luther King’s Prayer For Unity
Father in Heaven,
You are our Father, the one and only God. We come before You in the name of our shared humanity as sisters, brothers, and children.
We come to You with open hearts, ready to receive Your love and grace. May You shine Your light upon us to achieve clarity and peace of mind.
We come to You with prayers for unity. May we see each other as You see us—beloved children, each precious in Your sight. May we treat each other as equals regardless of race, gender, and culture.
We pray that we may find the courage to love one another, even when it is difficult. We all have different personalities, but may we find the right reasons to respect and care for each other.
We pray that we may have the strength to stand up for what is right, even when we are tired or afraid. Of course, we all have different ways of perceiving things, but may we all become brave to fight for our beliefs.
Let the examples of Dr. King and all those who have fought for justice inspire us, even when the odds seem insurmountable. It is not an easy journey, but we know that we will be able to achieve triumphant results with Your guidance and grace.
Comfort us with Your presence in times of trouble, and let us rejoice in Your goodness in times of joy. Draw us closer to You, Father, and draw Your people to one another.
